Dawn Exclusive: Flood-hit poor will now be hit by inflation, supply chain affected due to floods in Punjab, risk of famine

Lahore/Karachi/Islamabad: Heavy rains and floods have affected the freight system in Punjab, due to which delays in the delivery of goods may give rise to new risks of inflation.

The devastating floods in Punjab are causing delays on other routes due to the reduction in the delivery of various goods for import, export and local use on motorways and highways.

The consignments sent from Karachi to different parts of Punjab and from Punjab to Karachi are also being delayed.
