PTI Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan, 9 ministers, 10 MPAs dismissed, basic membership terminated

Allegations of conspiring against the party, forming a forward bloc and voting against the party policy, a ban on using the party’s name, flag and position

Gilgit-Baltistan: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has dismissed Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan and 10 PTI members of the GB Assembly (including 9 ministers) on charges of conspiring against the party, forming a forward bloc and voting against the party policy.

PTI has also suspended the basic membership of former Governor GB and PTI Gilgit-Baltistan President Raja Jalal Hussain Maqboon, who are accused of conspiring against the party.

The Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly will complete its term on November 26.

According to a notification issued by PTI Central Additional Secretary General Firdous Shamim Naqvi, the disgruntled PTI members of the GB Assembly include the current Chief Minister Haji Gulbar Khan, his cabinet members Raja Azam, Raja Nasir Ali Khan, Syed Amjad Zaidi, Dilshad Bano, Soraya Zaman, Haji Shah Baig, Mushtaq Ahmed, Shams Lone, Abdul Hameed and Member of Assembly Maulana Fazlur Rahim. Their membership has been terminated immediately with notice.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has terminated the primary membership of 12 members of the assembly, including the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Gulbar Khan.

The notification issued by the Additional Secretary General states that these members are accused of violating party policy, forming a forward bloc and going against the party during voting.

A show-cause notice has been issued to former Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon, while all deviant members have been banned from using the party’s name, flag and position.
