Islamabad: Four Supreme Court judges have written a letter to Chief Justice Yahya Afridi expressing reservations on the approval of Supreme Court rules through circulation.
According to Express News, another letter written by Supreme Court judges to the Chief Justice has come to light. This letter has been written by four judges, including Justice Mansoor Ali Shah, Justice Muneeb Akhtar, Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Ayesha Malik.
The letter has expressed reservations about the approval of the Supreme Court rules through circulation. The four judges objected to the procedure for approving the rules in the letter and wrote that we received a letter from the full court meeting, the rules were never placed before the full court for approval, only a one-point agenda was kept for the full court, and the agenda mentions the elimination of difficulties arising from the new rules.
The letter states that there is no benefit in attending this meeting until the main objection is removed, the rules are not a routine procedure to be approved through circulation, the Supreme Court rules are made under the constitution, steps taken under the constitution cannot be taken through circulation, calling a full court meeting for the approval of the rules was so unimportant, so why was a meeting called for amendments?
The letter states that our letter should be made part of the full court meeting minutes, the full court meeting minutes should also be made public. In our opinion, the rules have become illegal.
According to sources, the four judges who wrote the letter did not attend the full court meeting.
