A US court has upheld an $83.3 million fine imposed on President Donald Trump in a defamation case brought against the US president by author E. Jane Cole.
A US appeals court has upheld a jury’s $83.3 million fine against President Donald Trump for defaming author E. Jane Carroll.
It should be noted that the US President was sued in November 2019 by former Elle magazine columnist Jane Carroll for denying the accusation that he raped journalist Jane Carroll in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in the mid-1990s.
The journalist had stated that Donald Trump’s denial of the allegations had badly damaged her reputation as a journalist.
