Staff reporter, Daily Dawn, Dawn TV, OKTV report
London: The US magazine “Foreign Affairs” has declared the US policy of dependence on India over Pakistan a failure.
According to the Foreign Affairs report, India has never been a reliable partner of the US. India has not met America’s expectations, while Pakistan is a more reliable partner. Now the US will have to look at Pakistan with confidence.
The magazine further said that President Trump appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to reduce tensions with India, including measures against terrorism. In addition, the US and Pakistan’s trade and energy agreements are beneficial to both countries.
According to Foreign Affairs, US investment in Pakistani resources, including Reko Diq, can stabilize the region, while a unilateral focus on India will increase the risk of rifts and war in the region.
The magazine said that Pakistan’s national security policy emphasizes balanced relations with the United States and China. Pakistan has been a bridge between the United States and China in the past.
According to Foreign Affairs magazine, a US policy focused on India will alienate Pakistan and weaken Washington in the region.
