PTI senators resign from standing committees in droves

Islamabad: Four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senators have resigned from standing committees.

Senator Azam Khan Swati, Senator Ali Zafar, Senator Dost Muhammad and Senator Zeeshan Khanzada have resigned from standing committees. Azam Swati has resigned from 5 Senate standing committees on the party’s instructions.

Mirza Afridi has resigned from the Commerce, Industry and Production, Education, Energy, and Inter-Provincial Coordination Committee. Senator Mirza Afridi said that he has resigned from the standing committees in compliance with the order of the founder of PTI.

On the other hand, Senator Azam Swati resigned from five standing committees of the Senate. Azam Swati said that on the instructions of the founder PTI, he has resigned from all the committees of the Senate. We are protesting against the current parliamentary system by resigning. Standing committees have now become useless for the rule of law and the constitution.

Senator Ali Zafar resigned from the chairmanship of the Information and Broadcasting Committee.

Standing Committee Overseas Pakistanis Chairman Zeeshan Khanzada resigned. He has also resigned from the membership of the committees of Foreign Affairs, Finance, Commerce and Privatization.

Senator Dost Muhammad also resigned from the membership of the standing committees. He has resigned from the membership of the committees of Human Rights, Food Security, Poverty Alleviation and Railways.
