Dubai: After winning the Asia Cup, Indian team captain Surya Kumar Yadav got flustered after a Pakistani journalist’s question during the post-match press conference and kept evading the question without answering it.
After defeating Pakistan in the Asia Cup final, Surya Kumar faced tough questions from Pakistani journalists during the press conference. He said ‘You are getting angry’ without answering the Pakistani journalist’s question, then said he didn’t understand your question.
First, he did not receive the trophy from Asian Cricket Council President Mohsin Naqvi, then he started crying in the press conference, and Indian captain Surya Kumar Yadav went so far as to lie.
When asked about not receiving the trophy, the Indian captain said that this is the first time in the history of cricket that the winning team of the tournament did not receive the trophy.
He said that we deserved the trophy for winning the final while remaining undefeated in the tournament, but despite becoming champions, we were not given the trophy.
He said that despite not receiving the trophy, the Indian team became the champion of Asian cricket; this is enough for us, and we all play for the same thing. We enjoyed the entire tournament a lot.
The Pakistani journalist asked, ‘Did the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) earlier tell the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that the trophy should not be received from Mohsin Naqvi? ‘ to which he said that he did not know anything about it.
Additionally, throughout the press conference, journalists kept asking questions about not receiving the trophy and kept evasive.
