Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Chakswari: Violent incidents broke out on the fourth day of a general strike called by the Joint Public Action Committee in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, in which the death toll has risen to 12. The government has invited the protesters to resume talks.
The death toll in the violent protests has risen to 14. However, government officials have confirmed the death of at least nine people, including three policemen. The government of Pakistan-administered Kashmir said that 172 policemen and 50 civilians were also injured in the clashes.
According to media reports, due to the strike called by the Joint Public Action Committee in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, business and other activities remained suspended and communication systems were also down, while incidents of violence occurred in Drikot and other areas.
