New Delhi: The Indian media has claimed that the International Cricket Council (ICC) has “threatened Pakistan with isolation” in cricket if it withdraws from the T20 World Cup 2026, after which cricket fans started criticizing the ICC further. Pakistan has openly raised its voice against the ICC’s double standards and unfair treatment of Bangladesh, in view of which a possible boycott of the World Cup is also under consideration.
Indian media has claimed that if Pakistan decides to boycott the World Cup, the possible sanctions from the ICC will reflect its legal and unfair action.
According to Indian media, these sanctions may include suspension of all bilateral series, expulsion from the Asia Cup and a no-NOC policy among member countries. These measures will not only affect the PCB’s revenue but will also negatively impact the reputation of Pakistan cricket, all of which will be the result of this unfair and unilateral approach.
On the other hand, Pakistan has not made a final announcement of withdrawing from the T20 World Cup in solidarity with Bangladesh; however, Mohsin Naqvi has clarified that the final decision will be taken by Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He also urged other cricket boards to support Bangladesh’s stance, as Pakistan is doing.
