By-election likely to be held in this seat in NA-256 (Khuzdar-1) within three months

Quetta: Balochistan National Party (BNP) chief Sardar Akhtar Mengal’s resignation from the National Assembly membership has been accepted after almost 17 months. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq accepted Akhtar Mengal’s resignation last night, and the resignation became effective from the date he gave it.
According to sources, Sardar Akhtar Mengal was enjoying all the privileges as a member of the National Assembly till January 2026. Akhtar Mengal had resigned from the National Assembly membership on September 3, 2024, which has now been accepted after almost 17 months.
Sardar Akhtar Mengal was a member of the National Assembly from NA-256 (Khuzdar-1) and the seat has become vacant after his resignation was accepted. It is expected that a by-election for this seat could be held within the next three months.
