Manchester: Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali found not guilty in rape case,

A British woman of Pakistani origin will soon have her passport returned if her allegations are not proven

Manchester: The rape allegation against Pakistani cricketer Haider Ali could not be proven, and the Manchester police have dismissed the case.

Police sources have said that the rape case against Haider Ali was dismissed due to insufficient evidence. Haider Ali, who was acquitted of the rape charge, will also get his passport back in the next few hours.

After the case against Haider Ali is over, he will be able to come and go freely in the UK. The police took additional time to investigate Haider Ali, but no charges could be proven against the cricketer. Haider Ali was arrested by the police two weeks after a girl accused him of rape.

On August 8, the British news agency Reuters reported that Pakistani batsman Haider Ali is under investigation by Greater Manchester Police after a case of rape during the Pakistan Shaheens team’s tour of England in the UK.

According to the Reuters report, Greater Manchester Police told the agency in an email response that police had arrested a 24-year-old man after receiving a report of rape on August 4, 2025.

The incident allegedly took place at a location in Manchester on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. According to police officials, the man has been released on bail pending further investigation.
