London: Pakistan has demanded the removal of match referee Andy Pycroft from the Asia Cup; there is also a possibility of fines being imposed on the Indian team by the Asian Cricket Council

According to British media, Pakistan has set a condition for playing the remaining matches of the Asia Cup, making it clear that if match referee Andy Pycroft is not removed, the national team will not play any more matches in the Asia Cup.

Pakistan has formally informed the International Cricket Council (ICC) against the match referee.

Sources have told Nawa-e-Waqt and Dawn TV that Pakistan has formally decided that Pakistan will not play the remaining matches in the Asia Cup until the match referee is removed.

Chairman PCB and Chairman of the Asian Cricket Council Mohsin Naqvi wrote in a tweet on the social networking website ‘X’ that the PCB has filed a complaint with the ICC.

Mohsin Naqvi said in a tweet that the PCB informed the ICC that the match referee had violated the ICC Code of Conduct and MCC rules.

The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board further said that the PCB has demanded that the match referee be removed from the Asia Cup immediately.

Sources have told Nawa-e-Waqt and Dawn TV that the Asian Cricket Council is also likely to impose fines on the Indian team.

It should be noted that after defeating Pakistan in the Asia Cup yesterday, the Indian team did not shake hands with the Pakistani players, violating the spirit.

According to the spokesperson of the Pakistan team, even at the time of the toss, the match referee had requested the captains not to shake hands.

Later, Pakistani captain Salman Ali Agha also did not attend the closing ceremony in protest against the Indian attitude.

In addition, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav brought politics into the game, naming the victory against Pakistan as the Pahalgam incident.

In the post-match presentation, Suryakumar Yadav, while flouting the rules of cricket, said, “I name today’s victory as the Pahalgam incident, it is a gift from us to the Indian army against Pakistan.”
