Sahiwal: A condolence reference for the departed soul of senior journalist Meher Abbas was held at the Mohsin Naqvi Hall of the Press Club, in which Director Public Relations Sahiwal Division Mian Aqeel Ashfaq, Chairman Press Club Hafiz Waheed Ahmed, political and social leaders Sheikh Shahid Hameed, Tayyab Mahmood Baloch, journalist community, and a large number of citizens participated. The ceremony was presided over by President Press Club Rana Javed Nisar, while the general secretary of the Press Club Naveed Ghani Chaudhry, performed the management duties. Hafiz Waheed Ahmed said in his address that the late Meher Abbas was a principled, fearless, and dutiful journalist who always raised the voice of truth and justice. His journalism was not limited to just reporting news, but he continued to struggle practically for the reform of society and the solution of public problems.
Mian Aqeel Ashfaq said that the deceased discharged his professional responsibilities with utmost integrity and set a shining example for young journalists. His services will always be remembered in the Information Department and journalistic circles.
Sheikh Shahid Hameed said that Meher Abbas was a fearless voice who stood for the truth in every difficult time. His death has created a void that cannot be easily filled.
Tayyab Mahmood Baloch said that the deceased used the pen as a trust and always highlighted the problems of the people. His life is a beacon for the young generation. Director Finas Shafiq Dogar
