London: British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves has said that Britain could potentially help Israel in its conflict with Iran.
British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves, while talking to the media, said that Britain could potentially help Israel in its conflict with Iran, but explained that the decision to transfer additional warplanes to the Middle East was primarily made to protect British facilities and personnel.
The British Finance Minister stressed the need to end the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran and said that the decision to send additional warplanes to the Middle East was a defensive strategy.
Asked about helping Israel in the conflict, he said that we have helped Israel in the past whenever missiles were coming and we are sending military equipment to potentially help both ourselves and our allies.
The British Foreign Office has issued a travel guide to avoid traveling to Israel, while earlier on Friday the Foreign Office had warned its citizens against traveling to Israel.
It should be noted that last year when there was a conflict between Iran and Israel and Iran fired missiles at Israel, Britain openly helped Israel. In April, British planes shot down Iranian drones that were heading towards Israel.
Later in October, in a statement, Britain said that this operation involved two of its fighter jets and an aerial refueling tanker to disable Iranian missiles, but the warplanes did not target any location.
Differences had emerged between Britain and Israel regarding the Gaza war and there was constant rhetoric between the two.
Britain also imposed sanctions on two hardline Israeli ministers, Itamar Ben-Governor and Bezalel Smotrich, last week, accusing them of incitement against the Palestinians.
