Islamabad: A senior leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has claimed that some quarters are making efforts to transfer Imran Khan abroad, but the former prime minister has not yet shown any willingness in this regard.

In an interview with the English newspaper Dawn and Dawn TV, the PTI leader said on condition of anonymity that efforts are being made to make Imran Khan’s ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith, their sons and the British government guarantors.

According to the leader, the condition is allegedly under consideration that if Imran Khan is transferred to the UK, he will not issue any political statement there. However, according to him, Imran Khan has not agreed to this proposal.

The PTI leader further said that some people in the party were hopeful that in the current circumstances, Imran Khan’s family would be allowed to meet him, but the refusal to meet him has affected these hopes.

He claimed that Imran Khan has taken the stand that whether he is shifted to the hospital or somewhere else, he will not back down from the call for a long march. According to him, if Imran Khan is shifted to the hospital, the possibility of his being shifted back to jail after a few days is also under discussion.

The PTI leader said that those who were expecting an improvement in the situation should be cautious in the context of the current situation. However, all these claims of his are based on the party leader’s statement and could not be independently verified.
