Muhammad Azhar, Daily Dawn, Dawn TV Report

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader and former provincial health minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid has filed an appeal in the Lahore High Court against the sentences handed down in three cases related to the May 9 incidents.

The petitioner took the stand that the anti-terrorism court did not properly examine the facts, and the sentences handed down are contrary to the evidence.

The appeal has requested that the High Court suspend the sentence until the final decision of the appeals and order her release.

It should be noted that Dr. Yasmin Rashid has cases registered against her for attacking Shadman police station, arson and burning vehicles near Jinnah House, in which the anti-terrorism court had sentenced her to 10 years in prison each.
