Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology to be operational from the first week of October

Sahiwal: Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology will provide regular treatment facilities from the first week of October. The institute will provide timely medical facilities to hundreds of heart patients in the Sahiwal division and surrounding areas, and precious lives will be saved. Modern machinery for the treatment of all heart diseases has been installed in the institute, while trained medical staff have also been deployed. It is expected that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate this modern institute in the first week of October. A special meeting was held under the chairmanship of Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail to review the arrangements for activating the institute, in which he urged the administration to prepare a roadmap for making the hospital fully functional and for the availability of medicines so that there is no difficulty in treatment. The meeting was attended by Director of Development Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Principal of Sahiwal Medical College Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhtar, Executive Director of SIC Dr. Imran Waheed, MS Sahiwal Teaching Hospital Dr. Hadullah and MS Dr. Ilyas Anjum, along with officers of the relevant departments. MS Ilyas Anjum informed the meeting that out of 255 approved staff, only 85 have been deployed for the hospital, while 281 more posts are being approved by the department. Later, Commissioner Dr. Asif Tufail visited different parts of the Sahiwal Institute of Cardiology and also inspected the modern medical machinery. He specifically directed that the entrance of the hospital should be spacious, beautiful and impressive so that the patients and their relatives have a pleasant feeling. He said that this is an important milestone for the people of Sahiwal, which will prove to be the beginning of a new era in the health sector. Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Akhtar said that two modern operating theaters have also been provided in the institute. He said that modern machinery worth more than Rs 1.1 billion has been procured to provide modern facilities to patients in the hospital.
