Sahiwal: RUJ District President Chaudhry Najeeb Ahmed, while talking to Dawn TV, said that our organization is playing a full role in the welfare of journalists. A train march is being announced soon in this regard. The Central Executive Committee of the Regional Union of Journalists Pakistan held a meeting in Lahore yesterday under the chairmanship of Central President Syed Shafqat Hussain Gilani. All central and provincial office bearers and members of the CEC attended the meeting. It was unanimously decided that in view of the problems faced by regional journalists, RUJ Pakistan will conduct a train march from Peshawar to Karachi on November 5. The complete schedule of the march was announced. The convoy of regional journalists will come from Peshawar to Rawalpindi on November 5, from Rawalpindi to Lahore on November 6, from Lahore to Multan on November 10, from Multan to Rahim Yar Khan on November 11, from Rahim Yar Khan to Nawab Shah on November 12 and from Nawab Shah to Karachi on November 13. The Regional Union of Journalists Pakistan has issued a 10-point charter of demands for the train march. Central President Syed Shafqat Hussain Gilani has said that struggle is the only way out of the problems. The train march is being held in solidarity with regional journalists. In 75 years, regional journalists have never launched any organized movement to protect their rights, which is why regional journalists are mired in problems today. Insha Allah, RUJ Pakistan has started a movement to get rid of the problems. For their survival and dignity, regional journalists across the country should become part of this movement of RUJ Pakistan so that the government can be told that regional journalists have a separate existence.
