London: The British newspaper The Telegraph has claimed that there is a significant difference in the stance of the President and the Defense Minister in the narrative regarding the war in the United States.

According to a British media report, there is a clear contradiction between the statements of President Donald Trump and US Defense Secretary Pat Hegseth. The report states that Hegseth’s stance on the issue of war is particularly tough and aggressive; he has been making statements such as defeating the enemy and continuing the war for a long time, whereas President Trump appears to be relatively cautious or speaks in a different manner.

The report also mentions the possibility that this difference in the statements of the two leaders may be part of a strategy. According to the British newspaper, if the war situation becomes complicated, President Trump may put the Defense Minister forward to avoid responsibility.

The media report also stated that President Trump provided explanations to journalists in a direct telephone conversation regarding war decisions related to Iran. Following some of his unclear statements, the Defense Minister stepped forward and attempted to clarify the government’s position.

According to the report, Pat Hegseth is also facing political pressure due to concerns about a costly and long war. It is being said that he is being presented by the White House as a prominent face of war policy in media programs.

The British newspaper also wrote, citing some former US officials, that President Trump may be using the Defense Minister as a shield to protect himself from political pressure. On the other hand, other officials appear to be adopting a relatively cautious and calm approach in Pentagon briefings.
