Lahore: Anchor and crime reporter Iqrar-ul-Hassan officially entered politics; however, his political entry became a subject of ridicule and humor on social media instead of the news.
Iqrar-ul-Hassan, who is famous for his public program and Ramadan transmission, unveiled the name and flag of his new political party at the Lahore Press Club. The party has been named “Awam Raj Party”, while the party flag features a yellow moon and star on a red background.
As soon as the pictures of the party’s name and flag were revealed, social media users flooded with interesting comments and sarcastic sentences. Many users described the design of the flag as a combination of flags of different countries and political parties, while some also criticized the name of the party.
One user wrote sarcastically, “Iqrar-ul-Hassan himself has proven that he is a red flag.”
Another user said, “It looks like the flag of the Soviet Union.”
A fan wrote, sarcastically, “This all seems like a joke, who will be with him, except his three or four wives.”
Another comment said, “Awam Raj will never come to this country.”
Some users described the party’s name as similar to an Indian political party, while someone described the flag as a “Turkish flag with a red design.”
While Iqrar-ul-Hassan’s entry into politics came as a surprise to his fans, this step has already become a topic of entertainment and memes on social media.
