Lahore: National team captain Shan Masood is likely to be removed from the leadership due to the continuous poor performance of the Pakistani Test team.
The current vice-captain of the national Test team Saud Shakeel may be handed over the captaincy, which will be announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) soon.
The change in leadership has come at a time when news broke yesterday that Misbah-ul-Haq is being made the new head coach of the Test team, but the board has not yet confirmed it.
Shan Masood was appointed captain of the Test team in November 2023, but significant results could not be achieved under his leadership, however, he had to face the worst defeat against Bangladesh for the first time on home ground.
Under his captaincy, Pakistan played 12 Test matches, of which they won only 3 and lost 9.
