Noor Fatima Afzal, Daily Dawn, Dawn TV Report

Lahore: While the public seems worried about the recent changes in electricity rates, actor Nauman Ijaz also expressed his strong displeasure over the increasing units and prices.

Along with high electricity bills, load shedding also puts the public in trouble, which is no less than a punishment in this intense heat.

The rate has been fixed at Rs 10.54 per unit for those using electricity from one to 100 units, while Rs 13 has been fixed for 101 to 200 units and Rs 22.44 per unit for non-protected consumers.

In addition, the rates for more than 201 units have been fixed from Rs 28.91 to Rs 47.69 per unit, which will vary according to usage.

The decision issued by NEPRA will be implemented after the government’s approval.

Noman Ijaz shared a post on social media, mocking the units and electricity rates.

He wrote that in this intense heat, a common man sometimes looks at the meter, sometimes at the sun and sometimes at his children.

He further wrote that God, have mercy on the common man and end the 200-unit scoundrel.
