Dubai: A tense atmosphere has arisen between Pakistan and India players before the crucial clash of the Asia Cup 2025. Before the match to be held on September 14 (Sunday), both teams had net practice on the same ground at the ICC Academy; however, the players did not talk or shake hands with each other.
The two teams remained together for about three hours but took separate directions for practice. Media representatives expected that the traditional friendly dialogue or handshake would be seen, but this did not happen. Seriousness and coldness were visible on the faces of the players.
According to sources, although there was a lot of heat on the field in the past, the players of both countries had a cordial relationship off the field and would spend time with each other or take pictures with each other at various events. However, the situation has changed after the recent political tensions, especially after the alleged clashes in May.
This coldness in the relationship between the players ahead of this big Asia Cup match is surprising for the fans, who considered cricket as a means of improving relations between the two countries.
