Portugal: World-renowned player Cristiano Ronaldo has become the world’s first billionaire footballer.
According to the British news agency Reuters, the latest report by the Bloomberg Billionaire Index estimates Ronaldo’s total wealth at $1.4 billion.
Forty-year-old player Cristiano Ronaldo signed a contract worth more than $40 million with Al-Nasr, a professional football league in Saudi Arabia, after which his wealth increased.

Bloomberg says that Ronaldo earned more than $55 million in salary between 2002 and 2003.
In addition, Ronaldo receives $18 million annually from a deal with the famous sports product manufacturer Nike.
Ronaldo is also the brand ambassador of several other famous companies, including Armani, which earns him $175 million.
Since leaving Manchester United to join Al-Nassr in 2023, Ronaldo has become the highest-paid player in football history, with an annual salary of £177 million, while he also has a 15% share in the Saudi club.
Argentina’s Lionel Messi has been earning more than $60 million as a salary during his career.

After joining the billionaire club, Ronaldo has become one of the best athletes in the world, including basketball player Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, LeBron James, golfer Tiger Woods and tennis player Roger Federer.
On the other hand, Ronaldo says that he is not going to retire anytime soon.
In a speech at the Portugal Football Globe Gala on Tuesday, Ronaldo said his passion for football remains intact. “My family says it’s time to retire, and they ask me why I want to score 1,000 goals. I’ve scored almost 900. But I don’t think so.”

“I’m still producing very good things. I’m helping my club and my national team. So why not keep playing? I’m sure when I retire, I’ll retire with full energy because I’ll have given my all. I don’t have many years left to play, but the few I have left I have to live them to the fullest.”
