Sorab: Additional Deputy Commissioner was killed in a militant attack in the Sorab district of Balochistan –
Dozens of armed men entered the city and took control of government buildings – set fire to several buildings and vehicles and destroyed them –
According to authorities, dozens of militants armed with modern weapons entered the city of Sorab, about 220 kilometers from Quetta, on Friday evening and took control of important buildings and roads.
Armed men set fire to the police station and the residence of the Additional Deputy Commissioner in the city –
Assistant Commissioner Sourab Shay Akbar said that Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Hidayat Buledi was present at the house when the armed men attacked.
He confirmed that the armed men burned the police station and several vehicles while also damaging banks in the city.
Police sources said that the armed men also burned two police vehicles, a Levies vehicle, police and Levies warehouses, and a guest house, and took away the prisoners’ van with them.
The armed men stopped and searched vehicles on the roads.
Such attacks have increased in Balochistan – previously, dozens of people have entered Kalat, Mangchar, Zehri and other areas adjacent to Sourab in the past few months and damaged government buildings and properties.
