London: Another embarrassment for Pakistan, that was also part of the deal. The US military-run center in Gaza, which was built to monitor the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and provide aid to the Palestinians, is being closed.
However, critics of the Trump administration say that it has failed.
According to the British news agency Reuters, sources familiar with the development say that the Trump administration will close the center.
The potential closure of the Civil Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Israel is seen as a setback for President Trump’s Gaza plan, which is already in a fragile state as Israel has carried out several attacks since the ceasefire, while Hamas has consistently refused to surrender. Diplomats and officials say the move also highlights the difficulties facing US efforts to monitor the ceasefire and coordinate aid as Israel has seized more territory in Gaza while Hamas has tightened its grip on areas it controls.
