Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken a major decision that has shaken the cricket politics of Islamabad and declared the elections of all zonal and regional cricket associations in Islamabad null and void. The PCB has taken this step based on alleged irregularities and complaints.
Under the decision, Islamabad Regional Cricket Association President Shakeel Sheikh has been dismissed from his post. Not only Shakeel Sheikh but all the office bearers of all zonal and regional cricket associations in Islamabad have also been dismissed from their posts.
The PCB has issued clear instructions that all the dismissed elected officebearers should immediately resign from their offices and the immediate implementation of the Cricket Board’s decision should be ensured.
According to a PCB spokesperson, the recent elections of the Islamabad Regional Cricket Association have also been declared null and void, and the board will now devise a new strategy for holding fresh, transparent elections.
