A magnificent event honoring Nadir Hussain—one of the world’s finest tabla players—will take place on Friday, October 30th. It is organized by Charles John, an award-winning musician and renowned singer.

London: Consider the caliber of an artist who has performed alongside world-renowned singers and performers—including Naseebo Lal, Attaullah Esakhelvi, Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, Ustad Rafaqat Ali Khan, Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, Anwar Rafi, Samina Iqbal, Tasawwur Khan, Sohail Salamat, Ustad Roshan Abbas, Humaira Arshad, Humaira Channa, Nooran Lal, Shama Lal, Muhammad Ali Shehki, Gul Bahar Bano, Asia Saman, Rajab Ali, Haji Amir Ali Khan, Ustad Latafat Ali Khan, Dr. Tehseen Gul Khan, Ahmed Ali, and Arshad Mahmood (famed for the song “Hoskay To Mera Ek Kaam Karo, Shaam Ka Ek Pehar Mere Naam Karo”). One can easily gauge just how exceptional an artist he himself must be. We are speaking of Nadir Hussain—a world-class and highly distinguished tabla player—in whose honor Charles John, a wonderful human being, award-winning musician, and celebrated singer, is curating this special event.

Charles John shared this with Dr. Akhtar Gulfam—Editor-in-Chief of *Nawa-i-Waqt* (London)—a multi-award-winning publication and ‘Newspaper of the Year’ in the UK—as well as the English-language *Daily Dawn* (London) and Director of News at Dawn TV:

“Nadir Hussain is among the very best tabla players in the world.” Unfortunately, due to health issues, he is now living in a care home.

We would be absolutely delighted if you could all join us to celebrate Nadir’s 60th birthday and make this special occasion a memorable one for him. Your love, presence, and support would be deeply valued by us, and would mean a great deal to Nadir Hussain as well.

Let us come together to express our love and support for Nadir, and to show our appreciation for his contributions as a brilliant musician.
Please note that the event is expected to be attended by several prominent figures, including Irfan Sheikh, owner of ‘Gates Cars’ (which provides repair, servicing, and MOT services for commercial and private vehicles), and Imtiaz Malik, owner of the security firm ‘Pacific’.
The event will take place on Friday, October 30, 2026, at 6:30 PM at Tabla Restaurant, 300 High Road, Ilford. For further information, please contact Charles John at 00447956259571 or Lakha Singh (Tandi) at 00447920769893.
