London: British rap punk duo ‘Bob Violin’ is facing severe criticism for chanting slogans against the Israeli army during the Glastonbury Music Festival, after which several music events have expelled them from their programs.

Recently, a member of the band chanted ‘Death to the IDF’ against the Israeli army on stage at the Glastonbury Music Festival, which is being considered hate speech.

After this slogan was raised by the band, they were expelled from several music festivals. This slogan has created a stir not only on the political level but also on the social level.

The BBC broadcast the performance live, but after public pressure, apologized and announced that they would no longer broadcast performances on sensitive topics live and said that they would be more careful in the future so as not to offend public sentiment.

Avon and Somerset Police have launched a formal investigation into the incident.

Some members of the British government have described the slogan as ‘hate speech’ and called it a threat to social harmony.

After the band’s action, the US has canceled the visas issued for their tour, several other European festivals have also withdrawn their decision to invite ‘Bob Violin’, and their managers and publishers have also begun considering terminating their contracts.

Bob Violin responded by clarifying that his protest was against the Israeli army, not a specific nation or religion.

He said that he was speaking out against the atrocities being committed against the Palestinians and that this was part of freedom of expression.

The rap punk duo shared a photo of the affected children of Gaza on Instagram, saying in a message that “Over the past few days, while politicians and the media have been busy debating our band, you may have ignored the news, in which innocent children were starving. Don’t distract from the real issue and keep your eyes on the important facts.”
