The main procession of the Day of Ashura, 10 Muharram, will proceed from Qasr Batool, passing through the designated routes, and will conclude at the Mahi Shah cemetery late at night.

Sahiwal: The main procession of the Day of Ashura, 10 Muharram, will proceed from Qasr Batool. More than 1500 police personnel are performing their duties for foolproof security of Sahiwal Police. The main procession will pass through its designated routes and end at Mahi Shah Cemetery late at night. On the instructions of RPO Sahiwal Mehboob Rashid and DPO Sahiwal Rana Tahir Rehman Khan, foolproof security has been made for the gatherings and processions across the district. Arrangements have been made for 10th Muharram, 1 for Category A, 6 for Category B, and 4 for Category C, while 10 for Category A, 34 for Category B and 16 for Category C, a total of 60 processions will be conducted.
A comprehensive and coordinated strategy was formulated for the security of all gatherings and processions. 1 SP, 6 gazetted officers, more than 200 upper sub-ordinates, more than 1050 lower sub-ordinates and lady police personnel, more than 100 elite force personnel and more than 150 traffic police personnel have been deployed for security duty, who are performing their duties efficiently.
A three-layer security fence has been formed on the routes of the processions, while expert snipers have also been deployed on high-rise buildings and rooftops around sensitive places and processions. Walk-through gates and metal detectors have been installed for checking the participants. Along with this, complete surveillance of the gatherings, processions and public movement has been ensured with the help of Safe City cameras. Plainclothes personnel have also been deployed at sensitive places so that immediate action can be taken on any suspicious activity.
Commissioner Sahiwal Asif Tufail, RPO Sahiwal Mehboob Rashid, Deputy Commissioner and DPO Sahiwal Rana Tahir Rehman Khan personally visited the routes of the main processions across the district before the Ashura Day.
