University of Management and Technology (UMT) holds special event to express solidarity with minorities and Pakistan Army, Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora as chief guest

Lahore: A special event was organized at the University of Management and Technology (UMT) to express solidarity with minorities and Pakistan Army. The event was an important link in the Punjab government’s Minority Week series, in which Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora participated as the chief guest.
The event was attended by UMT President Ibrahim Hassan Murad, UMT Rector Dr. Asif Raza, Secretary Human Rights Farid Ahmed Tarar, faculty members, students, representatives of the minority community and government figures. On this occasion, the participants took part in a special walk along with UMT students and staff, in which slogans of “Pakistan Army Zindabad” and “Pakistan Zindabad” were written on various banners. During the walk, the atmosphere echoed with slogans in favor of Pakistan and the Pakistani Armed Forces.
Secretary Human Rights Farid Ahmed Tarar, while expressing his views, stressed the importance of education, leadership and skills.
Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Ramesh Singh Arora, while addressing the ceremony, said that the aim of Minority Week is to promote interfaith harmony and tolerance. He said that 15 minority students have been sent to the Civil Service Academy and will soon participate in higher level examinations. He thanked UMT President Ibrahim Hassan Murad for providing scholarships to minority students.
UMT President Ibrahim Hassan Murad said that we are providing equal opportunities for education and success to every student. Minority communities can be empowered through public policy reforms and intercultural leadership reduces social distance.
Rector UMT Dr. Asif Raza said that UMT provides scholarships worth billions of rupees to students every year so that no talented student is deprived of education due to lack of financial resources.
A special panel discussion on the empowerment of minority youth was also held at the event, in which Dr. Aira Andreas Patras, Dr. Mimpal Singh and Dr. Samiullah expressed their views. At the end of the event, Rector UMT Dr. Asif Raza presented souvenirs to Provincial Minister Ramesh Singh Arora and other distinguished guests.
