Police say that if arrested, the accused will be charged with a serious crime

Houston: A Pakistani-origin woman was attacked in the US state of Texas in the city of Houston under the pretext of alleged religious hatred.
The incident took place in front of Sugar Park Plaza on South Willcrest Drive, when an unknown person pushed the woman from behind and knocked her to the ground at around 5 pm on Friday.
The woman fell on her face, breaking her nose and causing serious injuries to her face. The incident was recorded on a CCTV camera, which can be seen as the attacker easily moving to the other side of the road.
The woman’s son, Muhammad Zaheer, said that his mother was wearing a scarf and the attacker likely targeted her, mistaking her for a Muslim. He said that this attack is a hate crime and the accused should be arrested immediately and severely punished.
The American Pakistani family has filed a police report. Police say that if arrested, the accused will be charged with a serious crime.
