Imran Khan complained of severe pressure and blurred vision in his eyes; the last examination was in November 2024. Personal doctors should be included in the board, Aleema Khan’s request to ATC

Islamabad/Rawalpindi: A petition was filed in the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Special Court (ATC) for a medical examination of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), on which the ATC has sought a response from the jail authorities.
According to Dawn News, the petition was filed by Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan through her lawyers, in which it has been taken the position that a medical board should be formed for a complete medical check-up and eye examination of PTI founder Imran Khan.
The petition was heard by Judge Amjad Ali Shah of the Special Anti-Terrorism Court.
The petitioner’s lawyers took the stand that during a meeting in prison, Imran Khan complained of severe pressure and blurred vision. 73-year-old Imran Khan has been in jail for more than 2 years, and his last medical examination was on November 4, 2024.
The petitioner said that despite repeated requests, he was not examined. Doctors working under the current federal and Punjab governments are not trusted. Imran Khan’s personal doctors should be included in the medical board.
Aleema Khan’s petition said that the court should immediately order the superintendent of Adiala Jail to form a medical board.
The court adjourned the hearing till August 29, seeking a response from the jail authorities.
