20 villages of Sahiwal district, 776 acres of crops, 1163 people and 1238 animals affected

Sahiwal: Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Rana Aurangzeb and Noman Qaiser said that, on the complaints of the people of the area, 200 earthen trolleys have been placed to strengthen the Aurangabad dam, which will increase the height of the dam by three feet. 20 villages of Sahiwal district have been affected by the flood. He further said that so far 776 acres of crops have been affected by the flood in Sahiwal district and 1163 people and 1238 animals have been shifted to a safe place. Rana Aurangzeb said that the number of flood relief camps established by the district administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Mahmood has been increased from 12 to 24, and ample quantities of medicines, food and fodder are available in the flood relief camps. SDO Para Noman Qaiser said that relief camps have been set up in the flood-affected areas of Murada Dal, Uda Tala and Noran Sanpal and medical facilities and food are available, and immediate assistance is being provided to the families affected by the flood. Rana Aurangzeb and Noman Qaiser said that announcements have been made in the villages for the evacuation of people from the riverine areas, and the services of numbered people have been obtained. Rescue 1122 has set up 6 posts where boots and life-saving jackets have been provided.
