Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has announced that it will be mandatory for teaching in the province while introducing a new system to improve teaching standards.

According to the documents of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, no one will be able to provide teaching services without a license. For this purpose, a regulatory body will be established for Rs 200 million to look after registration and licensing matters.

According to the Education Department, only registered and licensed teachers will be allowed to teach. The regulatory body will prepare TORs for teachers and licenses will be issued to those who meet the prescribed standards.

Furthermore, license renewal will be conditional on performance to ensure educational quality.
