Islamabad: Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani in the Islamabad High Court has made strong remarks in a conversation with the CDA magistrate regarding the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), saying that instead of being afraid, they should solve the problems of the people. The court has sought a detailed report from the CDA officials on the issue of Shah Allah Dutta and C-13 victims within a month.
During the hearing on the petitions of the victims of Shah Allah Dutta and C-13 in the Islamabad High Court, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that NAB has already sunk the boat; leaving aside political revenge, there is no peace for NAB.
He said that you should not follow NAB’s orders, do not be afraid of anyone, help people, and if anyone is afraid, get yourself transferred.
He remarked that mistakes are not punished, dishonesty is punished, civil rights and the jurisdiction of institutions must also be looked at, let NAB and FIA do their work, you do yours.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani said that after the NAB amendments, only 4 out of 106 cases in Islamabad remained; the rest were closed.
In his remarks, the judge said that despite the court order, Chairman CDA and the Chief Commissioner are appointing the same person to the post. It should be that a DC should be appointed in each sector to reduce the burden, but how can someone who does not obey the court order remove one DC and keep five?
