Brussels: The European Union has warned that India’s close ties with Russia could be an obstacle to growing ties between New Delhi and the European bloc.
Top EU diplomats have said that India’s purchase of Russian oil and participation in military exercises with Moscow could affect the confidence-building process between Brussels and New Delhi.
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Klass said that the European bloc considers relations with India important not only for trade but also for defending the rules-based global order, but increasing cooperation with Russia is creating difficulties.
