Asia Cup: Pakistan and India to meet in final on Sunday, September 28, for the first time in 41 years

Abu Dhabi: For the first time in the 41-year history of the Asia Cup, Pakistan and India will face each other in the final.

In the decisive match, they will face arch-rivals India. This is the first time in the history of the Asia Cup that the two teams will face each other in the final.

The Asia Cup was started in 1984, and so far, this is the 17th tournament being played. In these 41 years, Pakistan and India have not faced each other in the final even once. This is the first time that the arch-rivals are going to clash on Sunday. In the recent Asia Cup, there have been two matches between the two teams, in which India won.

Pakistan qualified for the final by defeating Bangladesh by 11 runs in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup. Chasing Pakistan’s target of 136 runs, the Bangladesh team was able to score 124 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Now cricket fans will see Pakistan and India play in the Asia Cup final for the first time on September 28. India has won the Asia Cup the most times, 8 times; Sri Lanka has lifted the trophy 6 times; and Pakistan has lifted the trophy 2 times.
