Islamabad: Consumer products multinational company Procter & Gamble has also announced the closure of manufacturing in Pakistan.

According to the company’s announcement, products manufactured in other countries in the region will be delivered to consumers through the distributor model.

According to the company’s statement, P&G has decided to change its business and operational model in Pakistan to accelerate the process of growth and value addition under its global strategy.

The company will now provide its products to consumers through a third party (distributor). Under this decision, the manufacturing and commercial activities of P&G Pakistan and Gillette Pakistan Limited will be gradually terminated, and services will be provided to Pakistani consumers through other operations in the region.

The company will continue to operate as usual until the process is completed, which could take several months. With this decision, P&G Pakistan and its regional support offices will immediately begin work on a transition plan, with the initial focus on P&G employees.

Employees whose responsibilities will be affected by this decision will be offered opportunities in P&G’s existing operations in other countries or will be given severance packages consistent with local laws, company policies and values.

After considering several potential options, the company has concluded that the most appropriate way to serve customers in Pakistan under the current circumstances is to adopt a third-party distributor model.
