Islamabad: The federation is in financial difficulties because the World Football Federation (FIFA) has not yet approved the grant of the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF).
FIFA and AFC have asked the PFF for an audit report of previous periods, while FIFA has also asked for documents of expenses incurred during the tenure of former NC Chairman Haroon Malik.
Sources said that the records of expenses incurred during the tenure of Haroon Malik are missing from the Pakistan Football Federation office. Haroon Malik was the chairperson of the PFF NC from 2021 to 2025.
Sources said that the PFF Congress is constantly contacting Haroon Malik to get details of expenses; the PFF Congress does not even have money for the players’ air tickets.
It should be noted that the Pakistan football team is scheduled to travel to Kuwait before October 14 to play an away league match against Afghanistan. Under the FIFA window, Pakistani-origin players are being released from various foreign clubs today.
However, due to a lack of funds, the salaries of some PFF employees are also delayed.
