Rawalpindi: 1562 illegal recruitments have been revealed in the Rawalpindi District Health Authority, including 1500 sanitary patrols and 62 entomologists. Serious irregularities were revealed in the recruitment process, which included interviews and the selection of thousands of candidates in a single day.
The recruitment committee was formed in March 2024; however, despite not getting permission from the Punjab government, the recruitment process was continued on the old advertisement. The committee was formed on July 30, 2024, and all interviews and selections were completed on July 31, which raised questions about transparency.
A three-member inquiry committee was formed on the complaint of former Director of Health Services Dr. Ansar Ishaq, whose report has not been made public even after a year. The Punjab Health and Population Department issued a notification on September 11, 2025, and directed to submit the report be submitted; however, despite the passage of 27 days, the report was not submitted.
Internal sources in the department have expressed anger over the delay in the inquiry and have demanded a transparent investigation and action against those responsible.
