PTI decides to approach the court for the oath-taking of the newly elected Chief Minister of KP

Peshawar: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has decided to approach the Peshawar High Court for the oath-taking of newly elected Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi.

Dawn sources said that PTI’s legal team has been present in Peshawar since last night. Barrister Ali Zafar, Naeem Haider Panjhuta and other leaders are present in Peshawar. The new Chief Minister is likely to approach the Peshawar High Court today itself, while PTI provincial president Junaid Akbar, Salman Akram Raja reached the Peshawar High Court along with lawyers.

Sources said that the newly elected Chief Minister will write a letter to the Chief Justice, and he will send the letter to the Chief Justice through the Advocate General. After the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the Chief Justice has the authority to order anyone to take the oath.

PTI leader Barrister Ali Zafar was contacted by telephone. Barrister Ali Zafar said that our legal team is preparing a petition regarding the oath. If the Governor KP prohibits taking the oath, we will immediately approach the Peshawar High Court.

He said that if the Governor prohibits, we will request the Chief Justice to take the oath. We are preparing a petition. If he is prohibited from taking the oath, we will immediately approach the Peshawar High Court. We hope that Governor KP Faisal Karim will fulfill his constitutional responsibility.

Junaid Akbar said that it is the constitutional responsibility of the governor to take the oath from the newly elected Chief Minister. We have come to the Peshawar High Court to apply for the oath to be taken from the newly elected Chief Minister. The governor is outside the province. The oath to be taken from the newly elected Chief Minister is necessary. All the members of the assembly are united. The members were being intimidated in different ways.

Salman Akram Raja said that Sohail Afridi has been elected as the Chief Minister. There should not be even a minute delay in the oath-taking of the Chief Minister. The governor is outside the province. The oath-taking of the Chief Minister is necessary.
