Sahiwal: A walk was organized from the District Council Hall to DC Chowk on Black Day under the auspices of the District Administration Sahiwal against India’s occupation of Kashmir and to express solidarity with the Kashmiri brothers and sisters. Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Rana Aurangzeb, Assistant Commissioner Sahiwal Maham Wahid, Sports Department officers and a large number of civil society members participated in the walk. Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance and Planning Rana Aurangzeb said that October 27 is observed as Black Day throughout Pakistan because on that day, Indian forces illegally entered Kashmir and occupied the aspirations of Kashmiris. He said that the purpose of today’s protest is to convince the United Nations that Kashmiris are waiting for justice, and the oppression being done to Kashmiris is a question mark on the conscience of the international community. He said that the hearts of Pakistanis always beat with Kashmiris, and the day is not far when Kashmiris will succeed in achieving their freedom and the oppressive forces will receive their punishment. Assistant Commissioner Maham Wahid said that every person of Pakistan stands by the side of their Kashmiri brothers in their freedom struggle, and no power in the world can suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiris. He said that it is the primary responsibility of the democratic powers of the world and human rights organizations to fulfill the promise made to the Kashmiri people and give them the right to decide their future. The participants of the walk held banners and placards on which slogans expressing solidarity with the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people were written.
