Indian cricketer Abhishek Sharma hospitalised ahead of T20 World Cup game with Namibia

Mohammad Abra, Daily Dawn, Dawn TV Report

Delhi: Indian cricket team’s opening batsman Abhishek Sharma is undergoing treatment in the hospital due to a stomach infection, after which his participation in the T20 World Cup match against Namibia has become doubtful.
He was suffering from ill health even before the match against the United States, but his condition worsened after playing the match.

Abhishek had a high fever and was given drips as immediate medical aid. He did not even attend the practice session at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.
He has been admitted to a private hospital in Delhi, where various tests are being conducted to accurately assess the nature of the infection.
It should be noted that Abhishek was out on the first ball in the match against the United States, while he did not return to the field, even while fielding. Sanju Samson took over the fielding duties in his place.
