Lahore: A delegation of the German Development Bank KfW met with Provincial Minister for Energy, Punjab, Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar, in which they discussed renewable energy projects in Punjab, especially the promotion of solar energy. On this occasion, Secretary Energy Dr. Farrukh Naveed and Director of German Development Bank KfW Sebastian Jacoby signed the agreement. Under the agreement, a grant of 15 million Euro will be provided for the promotion of solar energy in Punjab and under this project, various government institutions of Punjab will be transferred to solar energy. According to the details, 24 teaching and tertiary care hospitals and 6 Danish schools will be solarized, which will generate a total of 21.119 MW of solar energy. The Punjab government is expected to save approximately Rs 1.5 billion annually as a result of this project.
