Bury: A grand prayer ceremony was held in honor of Tahir Rafique, Solicitor, a highly educated legal expert and newly elected mayor. He belongs to a small village, ‘Chhatroh’ of Tehsil Dadial of Mirpur District, Azad Kashmir, and Mayoress Mohtarma Manzoor Bibi. In which prominent figures of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities, councilors, journalists and social leaders participated in large numbers and demonstrated mutual solidarity. The ceremony, led by the pastor of Town Bury, Reverend Julian Heaton, included special prayers for the success of the new term of office for the mayor and mayors, the development and prosperity of the city, and the promotion of peace, tolerance, and brotherhood between different communities. On this occasion, the participants congratulated the newly elected leadership and expressed their best wishes. The Kashmiri and Pakistani communities described this achievement as a great honor for the entire community. It should be noted that the Mayor of Bury, Muhammad Tahir Rafiq, is a distinguished lawyer by profession, who has always been at the forefront of British politics as well as public and social affairs. His assumption of this position is a proud milestone for the immigrants living in the UK. The participants of the ceremony expressed the hope that under the leadership of Mayor Tahir Rafiq, the culture of tolerance and mutual respect will be further promoted.
