Mumbai Bollywood superstar Govinda’s wife has knocked on the court’s door to divorce the actor after 38 years of marriage.
Sunita Ahuja has filed a divorce petition against Govinda in the Bandra Family Court under various sections of the Hindu Marriage Act 1955.
Sunita Ahuja has also allegedly made serious allegations, including extramarital affairs, breach of rights and infidelity.
Indian media claimed that the divorce case was filed in December 2024, on the court summoned Govinda on May 25.
The actor’s wife has been appearing in court punctually, but Govinda has been consistently absent.
Despite repeated notices from the court, Govinda has neither appeared in the hearings nor attended the counseling sessions.
The court has been trying to settle matters between the two since June this year, but due to Govinda’s lack of interest, this could not happen.
Recently, Sunita Ahuja said in a sultry tone on her YouTube channel that I always prayed to Mother (Kali Mata) for a happy marriage, and then she gave me Govinda and two beautiful children.
Sunita Ahuja further said that whoever tries to break my house, he will definitely get the punishment of the goddess. It is not right to hurt a good man and a good woman.
It may be recalled that news of tension between the couple gained momentum in February when Sunita removed ‘Ahuja’ from her name on social media and it was also revealed that she and Govinda have been living separately for years.
However, both of them denied the divorce news after a few days of silence, but now it seems that this relationship is really in its final stages.
At that time, it was also revealed that Govinda’s growing closeness with the 30-year-old Marathi actress could be the reason for the divorce.
Later, his lawyer also confirmed that although the couple had filed for divorce six months ago, they were getting back together.
On the other hand, Govinda has been completely silent so far. Fans are anxiously waiting to see when and how he will respond to his wife’s allegations.
