Islamabad: It has been revealed in a meeting of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) that more than 5,000 illegal recruitments have been made in the Federal Ministry of Communications given to JUI in 2022 and 2023.
The committee met under the chairmanship of PAC Chairman Junaid Akbar where thousands of illegal recruitments were revealed in the Ministry of Communications and it was informed of the audit objection that recruitments in the Ministry of Communications were made from Grade 1 to Grade 15 during the tenure of Maulana Asad Mahmood.
Audit officials said that people who had not even applied for these recruitments were also recruited, to which Junaid Akbar said that the majority of documents were also fake and one post was sold for 10 to 15 lakhs.
Communications Ministry officials said that action is being taken against those whose documents were wrong, the PAC Chairman said that this is a big problem, many people did not come for the test nor did many people come for the interview and this matter should be sent to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Senator Afnanullah Khan of the ruling party Muslim League (N) said that action should also be taken against those people who took money and got these facilities.
Pakistan Post officials said that people have taken a stay against it in all the high courts, the people we sent home were reinstated by the court, while the meeting revealed that 314 people were illegally recruited by the Pakistan Post Office.
Officials of the Postal Services said that people have definitely bought posts by paying money, such reports have come from Multan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Secretary of the Ministry of Housing said that I have sent 417 people home, I have issued show cause notices to those who have been recruited.
Junaid Akbar said that all the Attorney Generals should be called and informed about this issue so that the stay is ended, on The secretary of Communications said that disciplinary proceedings have been initiated but stay orders have been taken from the courts, people who were recruited more than advertised have been removed, on which the Chairman of PAC said that recruitments were made against merit by taking money from people.
The PAC has decided to summon the Attorney General of Pakistan on this issue while sending the matter to the NAB and the committee has been directed to resolve the issue of opening accounts by the Ministry of Communications without the permission of the Finance Division within a week.
