Sahiwal: An awareness walk was organized on World Dengue Day by Sahiwal Teaching Hospital. Members of Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Arshad and Pir Wilayat Shah Khaga, Additional Commissioner Coordination Dr. Saifullah Bhatti, Principal Sahiwal Medical College, MS Dr. Yadullah, CEO Health Dr. Abdul Majeed Niazi, renowned surgeon Dr. Mazhar Ahmed, President Sahiwal District Bar Saeed Ahmed Sagla and heads of various departments of the hospital, paramedical staff and a large number of nurses participated. Addressing the ceremony, Additional Commissioner Dr. Saifullah Bhatti said that June 15 is celebrated worldwide to prevent the dengue epidemic, the aim of which is to make the public aware that dengue should be fought, not feared. He said that dengue is a disease that can spread with the slightest carelessness. He said that clean water should not be allowed to stand anywhere during the rainy season. He said that the houses and surrounding environment should be kept clean. The aim of celebrating World Dengue Day is to create maximum awareness among the public regarding dengue prevention. MS Dr. Yadullah said that teams are working actively to control dengue in Pakistan. He appealed to the citizens to check the roofs of their houses etc. to eliminate dengue mosquitoes.
