Jacobabad: The Quetta-bound Jafar Express train was once again targeted by an attack, but this time fortunately all passengers were safe.
According to officials, a bomb attack was carried out on the Jafar Express on Wednesday morning in Jacobabad district of Sindh, bordering Balochistan, when it was a few kilometers away from the railway station.
According to police, the explosion derailed four bogies of the passenger train, but there were no casualties.
SSP Jacobabad Saddam Khaskheli told media representatives that ‘explosive material was planted on the railway line and the explosion occurred when the train approached.’ According to him, all passengers were safe in the attack.
According to the SSP, a bomb disposal squad has been called to determine the nature of the explosion.
According to the Sukkur Railway Control, the explosion has also damaged the railway line and a crater has formed at the scene. Railway rescue teams have reached the spot and will begin restoration work after the bomb disposal squad clears the area.
